Abstract: Virtual Manufacturing Technology(VMT) is one of the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies(AMTs) and is a new manufacturing methodology based on information integration in an enterprise. In this paper, we analyzed VMTs role and the relation between VMT and the other AMTs. According to Chinese conditions, we proposed some strategies that will be beneficial to our manufacturing sector in order to develop VMT in China.

Constructing virtual manufacturing system using CPC and VPN techniques

Abstract: This thesis brings forward the concept of constructing Virtual Manufacturing System using CPC and VPN techniques at the first time. With CPC software as the integrating platform of information, process, and management in enterprises, and VPN as the physical web supporting framework, the system puts tightly together the designing, manufacturing, stocking, marketing, selling, and customer of products through Internet, resolving the problems of platform and web security in present VM. Eventually, the feasibility of the framework is validated using a project instance.
